The LEGO Group plans to develop a large solar park at its LEGO Manufacturing Virginia facility as part of its broader target to match all global electricity consumption with renewable energy. According to the company, the project will be built on land adjacent to the new factory and is expected to generate enough clean electricity to support the site’s full operational demand once production begins. The initiative aligns with LEGO’s long term strategy to reduce environmental impact through direct investment in renewable infrastructure rather than relying solely on purchased energy certificates. The company noted that the Virginia project will complement its existing portfolio of solar and wind assets in other regions.

The solar installation is being developed in partnership with local authorities and energy providers to ensure compliance with regional grid requirements and to support broader clean energy adoption in the state. LEGO stated that the project will contribute to local sustainability goals by increasing the availability of renewable power in the region while also supporting the company’s internal emissions reduction objectives. The Virginia factory is designed as a carbon neutral facility, and the solar park is positioned as a central component of that commitment. The company expects the project to advance its progress toward achieving 100 percent renewable energy across its global operations.
