M&S Farming for the Future Includes the Seahills Supplier
Michael Hemsworth — January 1, 2026The M&S Farming for the Future program showcases the brand's initiative to prioritize sustainability in its product sourcing, which is seeing it work with suppliers like Seahill that are taking action to enhance biodiversity. The Brussels sprouts supplier has taken to planting wildflower seeds between its crops, which helps to increase biodiversity while also acting as a natural form of pest control. The supplier has also dedicated 20% of its land to nature and measures its environmental footprint through the Soil Association Exchange as part of its bid to enhance soil health to improve growth and more.
Farm Manager at Seahills Gary Bruce spoke on the initiative with Marks & Spencer's saying, "We’re looking at the whole journey from seed onwards – from soil health and biodiversity through to how we harvest and trim every sprout. Hand trimming makes a big difference to quality, and the support from M&S means we can keep analysing and improving how we grow our crops for the future.”
