Ocean Conservation-Focused Hotel Initiatives

Novotel is reinforcing its sustainability efforts through its ongoing partnership with WWF, marking the first anniversary of a three-year collaboration focused on ocean conservation. The hotel chain has introduced two major initiatives during this time — Sustainable Seafood Principles and Plant-Forward Ambition.

Sustainable Seafood Principles was developed in partnership with WWF France. This initiative eliminates 350 endangered species from menus and prioritizes responsibly sourced seafood. Plant-Forward Ambition, on the other hand, aims to introduce at least 25% plant-based offerings across Novotel's 600 global properties by 2026. These efforts are complemented by educational programs, including interactive games for children and specialized training for staff on sustainable seafood and ocean awareness.

Novotell is also supporting WWF-led conservation projects, such as protecting Mediterranean seagrass meadows, removing discarded fishing gear, and tracking endangered sea turtles.
