Piramal Critical Care Taps Blue-Zone Unite to Recycle Anaesthesia Gas

Piramal Critical Care, a global subsidiary of Piramal Pharma, has partnered with Blue-Zone Technologies to launch a full-lifecycle solution for capturing and recycling waste anaesthetic gases. The collaboration combines Blue-Zone’s advanced gas-capture technology with Piramal’s global manufacturing and commercial network to help healthcare providers reduce the environmental impact of inhaled anaesthetics without disrupting patient care.
Pending regulatory approval in Europe, Blue-Zone’s Phoenix Deltasorb® system will be deployed in hospitals in France and Germany, with Blue-Zone handling on-site installation and management. Piramal Critical Care will then process the captured gases at its Canadian facilities to produce Sevoflurane USP, a clinically essential anaesthetic.
