Kanesa D — April 22, 2026The University of Missouri (MU) Residential Life Healthy Communities Committee launched its inaugural 'Pose with a Purpose' fashion show on April 16 at the Virginia Avenue Amphitheater, in an effort to promote sustainable fashion choices and boost student engagement.
The event showcased secondhand and pre-owned fashion to promote circular consumption while raising awareness of campus support services, including the Missouri Students Association and the Care Team. Organized around Y2K, business casual, and Tiger pride themes, participants were required to style outfits without purchasing new items, encouraging creativity.
Featuring a diverse mix of undergraduate and graduate students alongside Residential Life staff, the event fostered cross-community engagement among students and professors, while aligning with growing consumer and institutional priorities around sustainability.
