Profluent Partnered with Corteva to Improve Crop Efficacy

Profluent Bio and Corteva Agriscience have entered a multi year strategic collaboration to apply generative AI for protein design to agricultural research, with the stated aim of accelerating development of more sustainable and resilient crops. Profluent will contribute AI platforms including ProGen3 and the OpenCRISPR‑1 genome editor to design novel gene editing systems, while Corteva will evaluate and integrate those designs through its Catalyst platform and Genlytix ecosystem.

The partnership is described as a joint effort to create a flexible toolkit for targeted crop engineering that addresses productivity, pest resistance, and tolerance to climate stresses such as drought and heat. Project materials indicate the collaboration will bridge computational protein design and field scale validation to shorten development timelines and support scalable agricultural applications, though specific commercial terms and deployment schedules have not been disclosed.
