Wildfire-Resilient Housing Platforms

AI company Reframe Systems has raised $40 million in venture financing to expand its network of automated microfactories that build wildfire-resilient homes, delivering energy-efficient housing about three times faster and at 35% lower cost than traditional construction. Energy Impact Partners led the round, with support from Eclipse, RA Capital Management and other investors.

The Boston-based company builds homes near the communities that need them, using robotics and software-coordinated production to adapt to local zoning, climate needs and architectural styles. In Altadena, California, Reframe is completing a wildfire-resilient bungalow and an accessory dwelling unit to help a family rebuild after recent fires, shortening a multi-year rebuild timeline to months.

Reframe's model shows how automated manufacturing, combined with AI, can help communities rebuild faster with homes designed to withstand future conditions.
