Proactive Wildfire Barrier Systems

CitroTech and Matrix Wildfire announced a partnership pairing Matrix's industrial fire-prevention hardware with CitroTech's biodegradable retardant to build wide-area fire barriers across entire communities. The combined system creates continuous barriers up to 600 feet wide and is applied months before fire season to protect utility corridors, railways, and municipal borders.

Unlike traditional retardants, CitroTech's formula is the only long-term fire retardant approved under the EPA's Safer Choice program and is safe enough to apply repeatedly without harming local ecosystems. The system also works in high winds and at night, conditions that typically ground aerial retardant drops, and uses real-time sensors to give insurers and municipal leaders verified proof of reduced fire risk.

This partnership shows how proactive, ground-based prevention could offer a more reliable alternative to reactive firefighting.
