Home Battery Manufacturing Funds

Base Power Has Raised $1B at a $13B Post-Money Valuation

Base Power raised $1 billion in Series D financing at a $13 billion post-money valuation and launched 'Base Core,' its home battery, now in production at Base Factory 1 in Austin. At 39.2 kWh/78.4 kWh, Core ranks among the largest home batteries on the market and is engineered for rapid deployment and installation in under an hour to help offset America's surging energy demand.

The round was led by Ribbit, Addition, Valor Equity Partners and JPMorganChase's Strategic Investment Group. It follows a year of rapid growth for Base, which has expanded its battery fleet beyond 500 MWh and grown beyond Texas into Illinois through utility partnerships with El Paso Electric, Austin Energy and CoServ, representing more than 200 MW of capacity.

Base Power's funding signals how distributed home battery manufacturing is emerging as a genuinely competitive path to expanding grid capacity quickly and affordably.
