ZOE Energy partnered with a Saudi company to build a large-scale battery energy storage system manufacturing facility designed to support renewable energy deployment across the Middle East and nearby regions. The project will launch in two phases, beginning with 6GWh of production capacity before expanding to 18GWh. The facility will manufacture localized ESS products that comply with Saudi grid requirements while reducing reliance on imported storage technologies.

The project reflects increasing global demand for regional battery manufacturing as countries expand renewable energy infrastructure and strengthen energy security strategies. Large-scale energy storage systems play a critical role in stabilizing power grids and supporting solar and wind deployment by managing fluctuating electricity supply. The facility could also create new opportunities for workforce development through its planned Green Energy Academy, which will train certified ESS specialists. As more countries prioritize domestic clean energy production, localized storage manufacturing may become an increasingly important part of long-term renewable energy planning and industrial growth.
