Jantzen Renewables Received Funding for 360 MW Battery Storage
Colin Smith — March 12, 2026Jantzen Renewables has secured all required building permits for its 360 MW Repono1 battery energy storage system in Teleorman County, Romania. The project has reached ready to build status, marking a significant step in the company’s broader development pipeline. According to reports, the facility will be located in Blejești and is expected to increase Romania’s grid scale battery capacity by approximately half. The company stated that the project supports national efforts to integrate higher levels of renewable energy by providing flexibility to balance supply and demand.
Repono1 is part of Jantzen Renewables’ portfolio of more than 2 GW of renewable energy projects under development across the country, spanning solar, wind, battery storage, and power to X technologies. The company noted that achieving ready to build status represents an important milestone in advancing high quality renewable infrastructure in Romania. Once operational, the system is expected to contribute to grid stability and support continued expansion of variable renewable generation.
