Battery Storage Projects
Envision and Statera Team Up for the '680MW Carrington Storage'
Debra John — November 10, 2025The '680MW Carrington Storage' project, developed by Envision Energy and Statera Energy, is set to become one of the UK’s largest battery energy storage facilities, advancing the country’s shift toward clean and reliable renewable power. Located at the Trafford Low Carbon Energy Park in Greater Manchester, the project will help store surplus wind and solar energy, ensuring it can be used when demand is high and generation is low.
Expected to be operational by late 2026, Carrington Storage will "provide enough clean electricity to power around 2.2 million homes for up to two hours, improving grid stability and reducing dependence on fossil fuels." Envision will supply its AI-powered battery system, designed for maximum efficiency and long-term performance. Together, the partners aim to strengthen the UK’s energy resilience and accelerate progress toward net-zero emissions.
