Seed Health and The Two Frontiers Launch the Resilient Soils Project
Debra John — April 21, 2026Seed Health, in collaboration with The Two Frontiers Project (2FP), has launched the 'Resilient Soils Project,' a community science initiative examining how microbial ecosystems adapt to chemically impacted environments. The project addresses "the environmental persistence of synthetic pollutants, including PFAS, which accumulate in soil and water systems and pose long-term ecological risks." By studying naturally occurring microbial responses, the initiative aims to identify sustainable, nature-based pathways for soil restoration and contamination mitigation.
Supported by SeedLabs, Seed Health’s environmental research division, the project advances efforts to harness microbial science in support of ecosystem resilience. The rapid introduction of synthetic chemicals has altered environmental conditions, challenging the adaptive capacity of natural systems and highlighting the need for regenerative approaches.
Across the United States, "exposure to industrial and agricultural contaminants has reshaped soil health, affecting biodiversity, water quality, and food systems, underscoring the importance of restoring ecological balance."
