Eco-Conscious Nordic Hotels

Scandic Hotels Group has announced plans to expand its Nordic portfolio with a new Scandic Go hotel in central Tromsø, reinforcing its long-term commitment to Northern Norway’s growing tourism market. The hotel will be part of a centrally located mixed-use development that also includes residential and municipal facilities.

Construction is expected to begin after summer 2026, with an opening planned for 2028. The property will feature approximately 170 rooms, designed to meet increasing demand for efficient, centrally located accommodation in the city.

Tromsø, widely known as the “Gateway to the Arctic,” has experienced sustained growth as a year-round travel destination driven by Northern Lights tourism, Arctic experiences, and cruise activity. This development will mark Scandic Go’s second hotel in Norway and Scandic’s third property in Tromsø, alongside Scandic Ishavshotel and The Dock 69°39 by Scandic.
