Solid Fuel Verification Systems

BurCell Technologies partnered with EarnDLT to digitize and verify the environmental attributes of the alternative solid fuels and renewable natural gas produced at its waste-to-energy facilities. In order to do so, the company now relies on blockchain-based Quantified Emissions Tokens issued through EarnDLT's Greentruth platform.

The BurCell System works to transform municipal solid waste into renewable feedstock at its operating facility in Georgia. Through this process, the company is able to divert a significant portion of landfill-bound waste and prevent methane generation. This has resulted in alternative solid fuels with net-negative carbon intensity measurements.

Each token issued by EarnDLT represents "one million British thermal units (MMBtu) of thermal energy with verified carbon intensity measurements expressed in kilograms of CO2 equivalent per MMBtu following the most stringent Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions and Energy use in Technologies model."
