Upcycled Event Installations

Science World Turns World Cup Panels into Consumer Goods

Upcycled event installations are extending the life of temporary materials as Science World transforms its FIFA World Cup 2026 Beautiful Dome into consumer products. The installation’s 131 custom-shaped panels were originally used to recreate the adidas Trionda match ball across Science World’s exterior. Selected panels will be preserved by local organizations, while remaining material will become limited-edition patio umbrellas, duffle bags, and shopping totes.

Repurposing the panels demonstrates how major event installations can be designed with their post-event use in mind rather than becoming waste once campaigns end. Selling the products through Science World also creates additional value from existing materials, with 100% of net proceeds supporting its STEAM programs. For event organizers and fabricators, the model could encourage more partnerships that combine temporary experiential marketing with resale, material reuse, and fundraising opportunities after large-scale events conclude.
