Electric Ultra-Heavy Cranes

XCMG and Sinopec Heavy Lifting & Transportation have developed a 14,000-ton ring crane designed to combine extreme lifting capacity with more efficient operation. The modular system consists of two main units and will deliver a maximum lifting moment of 700,000 ton-meters when fully integrated. Its electric direct-drive system converts electricity directly into motion, reducing energy consumption by more than 30% while increasing operating efficiency by 20%. The crane can support large-scale nuclear, conventional energy and offshore wind construction, including the installation of increasingly large wind turbines.

For construction and energy companies, greater lifting capacity could enable larger components to be installed as complete units, reducing complex sectional assembly requirements. XCMG can also capitalize on growing demand for modular nuclear facilities and larger offshore wind projects while positioning electric heavy-lifting equipment as a lower-cost alternative to fuel-intensive systems.
