Razon Debuts its Croatian Terminal with Eco-Friendly Hybrid Cranes
Kanesa D — January 12, 2026Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) has strengthened its operational capacity at the Port of Rijeka with the delivery of two new hybrid rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes, marking another step in the terminal’s ongoing modernization program. The cranes were delivered in late December and follow closely on the recent commissioning of two super post-Panamax quay cranes, which were introduced as part of a wider infrastructure and equipment upgrade.
The addition of the hybrid RTGs is expected to enhance efficiency and flexibility in yard operations, enabling smoother container handling and improved turnaround times. At the same time, the new equipment aligns with AGCT’s long-term sustainability strategy.
By combining conventional power with energy-saving technology, the hybrid cranes consume less fuel and emit fewer emissions than traditional RTGs, contributing to a lower environmental footprint for terminal operations.
