Padua will host the 3rd European Carbon Farming Summit (ECFS26), bringing together policymakers, scientists, business leaders, and farmers to advance implementation of the European Union’s Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation. The Summit will focus on scaling practical carbon farming solutions that enhance soil carbon sequestration, support biodiversity, and strengthen climate resilience across Europe’s agricultural landscapes.
Building on previous editions in Valencia (2024) and Dublin (2025), participation has grown steadily, reflecting increased political and market interest in land-based climate mitigation. Attendance rose from more than 600 participants in Valencia to over 1,000 stakeholders in Dublin. The 2026 Summit is expected to welcome more than 700 in-person participants, alongside a virtual audience.
Senior representatives from the European Commission, including DG CLIMA and DG AGRI, will join leaders from research, finance, agribusiness, and farming organizations to discuss verified carbon removals, sustainable land management practices, and the transition from pilot projects to full regulatory implementation.
