ICODOS Offers a Hybrid and Modularized Solution

ICODOS, a technology development company based in Mannheim, Germany, boasts a patented hybrid process that combines point-source carbon capture with methanol synthesis in a single, modularized system. This innovation works to transform industrial emissions into sustainable e-methanol.
ICODOS' point-source carbon capture system captures carbon dioxide directly from emission sources and then utilizes over 90% of it to produce liquid methanol, which serves as a carbon-neutral fuel and chemical feedstock. This integrated approach is said to require more than 30% less energy than conventional methods, which, in turn, reduces operating costs and enables dynamic, automated production at scale.
Following successful lab validation and pilot plant operation, ICODOS progresses toward commercial demonstration with a modular industrial-scale plant capable of producing several thousand tons of e-methanol annually. The company is targeting the vast number of carbon dioxide point sources across Europe and North America.
