The 38th Bremen Conference, taking place from March 25–27, 2026, will highlight how cotton is evolving as a sustainable and high-performance natural material for modern textile and technical applications. The event will bring together researchers, manufacturers and industry experts to explore new ways of improving cotton’s environmental performance and expanding its uses.

A key focus will be cotton functionalization, where innovative treatments enhance the fiber's durability, safety and performance while maintaining its renewable and biodegradable qualities. Speakers will also examine circular textile solutions, including technologies that convert cotton-based textile waste into reusable fibers, helping reduce landfill waste and support more sustainable production cycles.

Additional discussions will cover the development of natural fiber composites, where cotton is combined with other materials to create lightweight and environmentally responsible products. The conference will also explore halogen-free flame-retardant systems, reflecting growing industry efforts to replace traditional chemical treatments with safer and more environmentally compatible alternatives.
