Automotive Sodium-Ion Batteries

Camel Group is advancing automotive sodium-ion batteries through a pre-development project with a major European automaker. The collaboration brings its 12V sodium-ion technology into the manufacturer's development and validation process for next-generation low-voltage vehicle systems. Camel Group has already developed cylindrical sodium-ion battery samples and established small-batch production capabilities. The chemistry offers potential advantages in resource availability, low-temperature performance and cycle life, positioning it as an alternative for evolving automotive electrical architectures.

For automakers, sodium-ion technology could help diversify battery supply chains while supporting changing regulatory and decarbonization requirements. Camel Group could also strengthen its position in the European automotive market by validating its technology against OEM requirements.
