Climate Assessment Frameworks

Schneider Electric piloted the Climate Contribution Framework, developed by Sweep and the Mirova Research Center to assess corporate climate performance beyond direct emissions reductions. The framework evaluates companies across three pillars: reducing their own emissions, providing products and services that help others decarbonize, and deploying climate finance beyond their value chains.

Schneider Electric’s participation builds on more than a decade of impact investing through Schneider Electric Energy Access, launched in 2009. The initiative has committed more than €350 million alongside financial partners across impact funds covering 72 companies. Those investments have created 8,666 direct jobs, positively affected 35.7 million people, helped avoid 17.4 million tonnes of CO2 and supported 102,000 square meters of affordable, energy-efficient housing.

The framework reflects a broader shift toward measuring corporate climate leadership through capital deployment and enabling technologies alongside internal emissions targets.
