Battery Recycling Partnerships

Desjardins is expanding its sustainability efforts through a new battery recycling program developed in partnership with Call2Recycle, making it easier for employees, members and clients to responsibly dispose of used batteries. By integrating collection points directly into its locations, the financial cooperative is simplifying access to proper recycling while addressing the growing issue of hazardous household waste.

This initiative is part of Desjardins’ broader Programme Récüp, which focuses on reducing waste at the source and extending the life cycle of materials through repair, reuse and repurposing. Beyond batteries, the organization has introduced practical measures like reusable cup systems and extending the lifespan of office equipment, demonstrating a shift toward more efficient resource management.

This approach strengthens brand trust while aligning with rising consumer expectations for environmentally responsible practices. It also positions Desjardins as a leader in embedding circular economy principles into everyday operations, showing how large institutions can drive meaningful environmental impact through accessible, scalable solutions.
