Carnival Corporation announced a new goal to reduce its GHG emissions intensity by 25% by 2029. This new target is an increase of five percentage points from the original goal, as the company achieved its 2030 target five years ahead of schedule, successfully reducing emissions intensity by 20% in 2025.

The efficiency improvements that contributed to this milestone are also yielding financial benefits, with fuel-saving measures expected to save the company approximately $650 million in 2026 compared to 2019 levels. Since 2008, Carnival has reduced GHG emissions intensity by 44% through operational improvements, including smart itinerary planning, waste heat recovery systems and Air Lubrication Systems that help ships move more efficiently through the water.

Carnival's accelerated timeline signals how sustained investment in operational efficiency can deliver measurable emissions progress.
