Science-Based Net-Zero Commitments

Hitachi Vantara committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its global value chain by fiscal year 2040, with near- and long-term targets independently validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. The company aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 98% by FY2030 relative to an FY2024 baseline and to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 51% per usable petabyte of storage capacity sold by FY2036.

In FY2025, Hitachi Vantara reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 43%, driven largely by sourcing 50% of its energy from renewables.

The company's VSP 360 Clear Sight tool has also helped customers cut costs and energy use, including DestekBank's 25% reduction in data center energy consumption and Malayala Manorama's 70% cut in power and cooling costs.
