The Indiantown facility, developed through a partnership between Synagro and Sedron®, represents a next-generation approach to environmentally sustainable biosolids management. Following a 10-year agreement approved by Martin County, the facility is designed to process wastewater byproducts in a way that reduces waste and supports resource recovery.

Using Sedron’s Varcor® technology, the facility converts biosolids into valuable outputs, including carbon-negative electricity, helping to lower greenhouse gas emissions. This process diverts waste from landfills and reduces environmental pollution while generating renewable energy.

The facility also promotes a circular economy by turning waste into useful resources rather than disposing of it. By leveraging advanced technology and existing infrastructure, the project minimizes environmental impact and improves efficiency. Importantly, this sustainable solution is implemented without requiring upfront capital investment from the municipality, making eco-friendly waste management more accessible and scalable.
