Industrial Grease Recovery Systems

Greasezilla Converts Waste Grease into Renewable Fuel Feedstock

Greasezilla is expanding industrial grease recovery systems through a planned installation at the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission's Newark Bay treatment facility in New Jersey. The technology separates commercial grease-trap waste into reusable materials, helping wastewater operators manage difficult waste streams while recovering resources for renewable fuel production.

The system will process up to 15 million gallons of grease waste annually, using heat to separate water, pasteurized solids, and low-moisture Brown Grease without chemical polymers. Recovered grease can serve as feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel. The installation will also utilize the facility's existing steam infrastructure, eliminating additional heating equipment.

For wastewater utilities, this approach could reduce maintenance expenses, prevent grease-related blockages, and improve operational efficiency. Recovering valuable materials also creates opportunities for partnerships with renewable fuel producers while supporting broader waste management and resource recovery efforts.
