Advanced EV Charging Hubs
OpConnect is expanding advanced EV charging hubs through a new Portland headquarters designed to support manufacturing and development of next-generation charging technologies. The facility includes additional space and electrical infrastructure for research into battery-backed charging, bidirectional charging and microgrids. These capabilities could allow EV chargers to work more flexibly with electricity networks while supporting fleets that require reliable charging capacity. OpConnect already provides charging infrastructure to organizations across 36 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces.
The expanded facility gives OpConnect greater capacity to develop and manufacture charging systems as fleet electrification increases across North America. Combining charging hardware, management software and emerging grid-connected technologies could also help the company serve utilities, municipalities and commercial fleet operators with more integrated solutions. Its Portland expansion could strengthen domestic production while supporting wider deployment of flexible EV charging infrastructure.
