Fusionality raised a pre-seed round, co-led by Founderful and Playfair, to build software and hardware that help fusion companies operate, monitor and analyze their reactors. Founded by former Google DeepMind scientists who spun out of EPFL's Swiss Plasma Center, the company addresses a shared bottleneck across more than 30 privately funded fusion companies worldwide: measuring plasma properties and steering reactor systems within milliseconds.
The funding will support hiring control engineers, computational physicists and software engineers in Lausanne as the company begins its first customer engagements.
As the fusion industry scales faster than its supporting infrastructure can keep pace, Fusionality's approach signals that specialized operations software could become a shared foundation, helping multiple fusion developers avoid redundant engineering work on the path to commercial power generation.
