Companion.energy raised €7.8 million in seed funding, led by Realyze Ventures and Pi Labs, to expand its industrial energy optimization platform across Europe, starting with Germany and Spain. The Belgian startup manages more than 2TWh of annual energy consumption for customers including TotalEnergies, KPN, Port of Antwerp-Bruges and Proximus Group, representing roughly €500 million in annual energy spend.

The platform connects energy contracts, operational systems and distributed assets, including solar, batteries and EV charging, into a single AI-driven layer that autonomously manages procurement and steers assets in real time. Customers have reported energy cost reductions of 10% to 30%, and the company’s revenue grew tenfold over the past year.

Companion.energy shows how AI-driven platforms can replace manual procurement processes and give large industrial operators a real-time edge in energy management.
