Nuclea Energy entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Moltex Energy's advanced nuclear technology portfolio, including the Moltex WATSS nuclear recycling process, the Stable Salt Reactor-Wasteburner and FLEX reactor technologies, developed over more than a decade.

The portfolio comprises 80 granted patents across nine patent families, backed by more than C$96 million in private- and public-sector funding from Canada and the U.S. Moltex's WATSS technology aims to recycle used nuclear fuel, reduce long-term waste inventories and produce fuel for advanced reactors. Recent testing on real used CANDU fuel was successfully conducted at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.

As used nuclear fuel is increasingly viewed as a strategic energy resource rather than a waste liability, this acquisition signals that advanced fuel-cycle technologies could play a critical role in scaling nuclear power to meet accelerating global electricity demand.
