Momentum Technologies and Aquatech have partnered to combine advanced mineral separation and processing technologies aimed at strengthening domestic supplies of battery materials and rare earth elements. At the center of the collaboration is Momentum's Membrane Solvent Extraction (MSX) technology, which refines metals such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, and rare earth elements from mined resources, battery waste, and industrial byproducts. By integrating this capability with Aquatech's large-scale processing platform, the companies can provide a more streamlined path from raw feedstock to finished materials.

This development could help address growing demand for critical minerals used in electric vehicles, energy storage systems, medical devices, and defense applications. For manufacturers, improved access to domestically refined materials may reduce supply chain risks and dependence on imports. The partnership also highlights increasing interest in modular, scalable refining systems that lower costs, accelerate deployment, and support the expansion of battery recycling and resource recovery industries.
