Private Power Grid Investments

TDK Ventures Backed Aston Power's Rapid Clean Energy Platform

TDK Ventures invested in Aston Power, a Raleigh-based startup developing a rapid clean energy platform that delivers private power networks to hyperscale data centers and industrial users in two to three years, compared to the five- to 10-year wait often associated with traditional grid interconnection. The company's 2GW development pipeline includes initial campuses in Arizona, Texas and New Mexico.

Aston's software-defined architecture manages a hybrid mix of solar, batteries, natural gas and grid resources in real time, guaranteeing 99.9% substation-level availability through formal service-level agreements. TDK's investment adds expertise in power electronics, energy storage and global B2B infrastructure to Aston's commercial capabilities.

The partnership shows how private clean energy platforms are emerging as a practical bridge between renewable energy goals and the infrastructure timelines industry needs.
