Energy Digital Asset Mergers
DigitalBridge Acquired ArcLight in a $1B Power and Digital Deal
Adam Harrie — May 30, 2026DigitalBridge acquired ArcLight Capital Partners for $1.05 billion, combining ArcLight’s 25 years of power infrastructure expertise, including more than 70GW of power generation assets and 48,000 miles of transmission and storage infrastructure, with DigitalBridge’s global digital infrastructure platform. The digital power infrastructure AI convergence deal positions the combined entity to underwrite both energy and digital infrastructure as AI drives unprecedented demand for generation, transmission and behind-the-meter power capacity.
The transaction is contingent on the completion of SoftBank’s previously announced $4 billion acquisition of DigitalBridge. ArcLight will operate as a separately managed business within the DigitalBridge platform.
DigitalBridge and ArcLight show how combining deep power-sector expertise with digital infrastructure relationships can create a platform positioned to solve the energy challenge defining the next phase of the global AI buildout.
