Energy Service Provider Acquisitions

EGC Group has acquired BayWa Energie Dienstleistungs GmbH (BayWa EDL), a move that strengthens EGC’s presence in Bavaria and completes its national coverage across Germany. BayWa EDL specializes in biomass heating systems and local heating networks and manages heat generation facilities at 52 sites, collectively producing around 51,200 MWh of heat per year, which expands EGC’s operational footprint and biomass capabilities within its portfolio of sustainable energy solutions.

The transaction complements EGC’s buy‑and‑build growth strategy and follows earlier acquisitions and partnerships aimed at accelerating decarbonization in the real estate sector, including a strategic partnership with investment firm KKR and prior purchases such as Green Way Energy GmbH and a portfolio of assets from BEW Solutions GmbH that together broaden EGC’s service offering across Germany. The addition of BayWa EDL is presented as a milestone in EGC’s efforts to advance the energy transition by enhancing local heat provision and integrating biomass‑based generation into its decarbonization services for property owners and operators.
