Pink Flexible Plastic Bins

Recycle BC has expanded its recycling program in Vancouver to include flexible plastics collection for residents in apartment and condominium buildings.

With this expansion, apartment and condo residents can now deposit flexible plastic materials in the pink carts in their building’s recycling area. Collection occurs weekly, aligned with existing recycling pickup schedules, helping to integrate the new stream without disrupting operations. To ensure proper processing, materials must be clean and dry, and loose items should be bundled together inside a reused clear plastic bag before being placed in the cart.

“With flexible plastic collection now officially live across Vancouver’s apartments and condos, residents can now recycle flexible plastics right at their building, making recycling easier and more convenient,” says Sam Baker, Recycle BC executive director. “By expanding flexible plastics collection to more communities, we’re taking another step toward increasing collection and keeping more materials out of landfills and nature.”
