Regenerative Wheat Partnerships

Nestlé Has Brought Regenerative Wheat to KitKat's Iconic Wafer

Nestlé partnered with Wildfarmed to introduce regenerative wheat farming into the wafer used in KitKat, scaling trials that began last year at its York factory to all 1.5 billion KitKat bars produced annually in York. The wheat comes from a network of British farmers who follow regenerative practices, including limiting soil disturbance, maintaining year-round soil cover and promoting plant diversity.

These practices aim to increase farm biodiversity, improve soil health, minimize water pollution and reduce carbon emissions without altering KitKat's taste or signature snap. The partnership builds on Nestlé's broader sustainability efforts, including 22 years of regenerative dairy sourcing with First Milk and its Income Accelerator program supporting cocoa farmers in Côte d'Ivoire.

Nestlé shows how iconic, high-volume consumer products can help scale regenerative agriculture practices across mainstream food supply chains.
