Sustainable Food System Events

The inaugural Terra Madre Asia & Pacific 2025 event served as a significant regional convocation for the Slow Food movement. The happening united a multitude of participants from across the region in Bacolod City, Philippines.

Terra Madre Asia & Pacific 2025 functioned as a platform to champion food production systems that are environmentally regenerative, economically equitable, and deeply connected to local cultural traditions. A central theme of the gathering was the emphasis on grassroots advocacy and the political influence of collective action, with a focus on preserving agricultural biodiversity, indigenous knowledge, and culinary heritage as counterpoints to industrialized agriculture. The program's structure was highly interactive, featuring educational workshops, tasting sessions, and public forums that facilitated the exchange of practical skills and philosophical ideas among farmers, producers, chefs, and consumers.

At the event, plans were announced for the initiation of a Slow Food Hub for the region, alongside the launch of a Slow Food Travel concept to promote experiential tourism.promote experiential tourism.
