Sustainable Finance Frameworks

SeABank Launches a Framework to Fund Green and Social Projects

SeABank announced its Sustainable Finance Framework, which received a Second-Party Opinion from S&P Global Ratings on Sept. 24, 2026. The framework aligns with international principles from ICMA, LMA, APLMA, LSTA and IFC and directs funding to 14 green categories (40% to 45%), 7 blue categories (10% to 15%) and 5 social objectives (40% to 45%).

It sets quantitative criteria, including a minimum 20% improvement in energy savings, emission reduction or water efficiency. SeABank mobilized nearly $1.1 billion from international institutions, and its outstanding green credit exceeded VND4.1 trillion in September, up over 150% from end-2025. SeABank targets 5% green credit by 2030.

As Vietnam pursues net zero by 2050, the framework signals how unified green, blue and social financing can direct capital toward measurable climate and community outcomes.
