Emicool and Yellow Door Energy deployed four solar plants totalling 1.2 MWp across Dubai Investments Park 2, Motor City, and Expo City Dubai, comprising over 1,860 panels and expected to generate approximately 1.5 million kWh annually, which the partners estimate will cut carbon emissions by about 600 tonnes per year. The projects were delivered under a solar lease model in which Yellow Door Energy finances, builds, and operates the installations while Emicool receives the generated electricity for its district‑cooling sites, aligning with municipal decarbonisation objectives and operational resilience goals. The partnership emphasizes integration of distributed generation with urban infrastructure to lower the carbon intensity of cooling services and to support local sustainability targets. Implementation focuses on lifecycle operation and maintenance by the developer, enabling Emicool to access renewable energy without upfront capital expenditure, while Yellow Door Energy retains asset ownership and performance risk. The projects are presented as demonstrators for scaling similar arrangements across commercial and industrial sites in the region, with expected co‑benefits including reduced grid demand during peak periods and enhanced corporate sustainability reporting for both parties.
