Climeworks Has Signed a 10-Year Carbon Removal Agreement With TD Bank

Climeworks Solutions signed a 10-year carbon removal agreement with TD Bank, making the Toronto-based institution the first Canadian financial services customer for the global carbon dioxide removal provider. The deal covers a managed portfolio of high-quality carbon removal projects spanning multiple technologies across North America.
The portfolio includes enhanced rock weathering, biochar and bioenergy with carbon capture and storage, all designed to sequester removed CO₂ for extended periods. TD will also gain access to direct air capture credits from a future Climeworks facility in Canada, where the company recently established its Calgary headquarters.
Climeworks and TD show how diversified carbon removal portfolios, flexible enough to evolve alongside emerging standards, are becoming a practical tool for supporting long-term climate goals.
