Their collaboration integrates specialized nickel-manganese-cobalt materials with battery cell engineering to improve performance while addressing limitations associated with conventional cathode technologies.

eJoule's Dynamic Crystallization Process produces cathode materials directly from liquid droplets, removing a traditional manufacturing stage and reducing related waste. Testing has demonstrated strong capacity retention after repeated charging cycles, with battery lifespan approaching that of lithium iron phosphate alternatives. ITRI contributes expertise in electrode production and cell optimization to support practical applications.

For battery manufacturers, this approach could simplify production while expanding access to longer-lasting, high-performance materials.
