High-Capacity LFP Cells

High-capacity LFP cells are advancing utility-scale energy storage as Pylontech begins mass production of its 588Ah and 601Ah prismatic cells at its Hefei manufacturing base. Designed for large energy storage projects, the 601Ah cell delivers an energy density of 425.8Wh/L, energy efficiency of 96.5%, and a cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles. Its larger capacity also reduces the number of cells and interconnections required within a storage system, enabling more compact configurations and streamlined integration.

For energy storage developers, these performance improvements could translate into stronger lifecycle economics and more efficient deployment of large battery installations. Pylontech has already produced more than 100MWh of the new cells and is integrating them into its 6.25MWh and 8MWh PyOcean systems. Automated manufacturing and end-to-end cell traceability could further support consistent quality as Pylontech scales production for growing utility-storage demand worldwide.
