HiTHIUM completed an open-door, large-scale fire test of its ∞Power 6.25MWh long-duration energy storage (LDES) system, demonstrating safety performance that supports cleaner and more reliable energy infrastructure. The test evaluated a high-energy-density battery system designed to store renewable electricity and help reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Conducted under independent supervision and aligned with the latest UL and NFPA safety standards, the test assessed how the system behaves under extreme, real-world conditions.

The results showed that the energy storage system remained stable and controllable even at full charge, without active fire suppression, and with maximum exposure to oxygen and heat. This validation is important for enabling larger energy storage installations that support solar and wind integration, grid stability, and emissions reduction. By proving safety at higher energy levels, the test helps advance long-duration energy storage as a key technology for accelerating the transition to low-carbon power systems worldwide.
