Grid-Scale Battery Storage

Grid-scale battery storage is strengthening California’s electricity infrastructure through Arevon Energy’s 300 MW/1,200 MWh Nighthawk Energy Storage Project. Using lithium iron phosphate battery technology, the facility stores electricity during lower-demand periods and dispatches it when consumption rises. Capable of supplying enough energy for up to 385,000 homes for four hours, Nighthawk provides flexible capacity that can improve grid reliability while supporting California’s growing integration of clean energy resources.

Large-scale battery projects are becoming increasingly valuable as utilities manage rising electricity demand and greater renewable generation. Nighthawk’s long-term agreement with PG&E demonstrates how storage developers can secure predictable revenue while providing utilities with dependable capacity.
