EVIO & Molicel Partnered on Its Aerospace Lithium Battery Development

EVIO and Molicel have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to jointly develop an aerospace lithium battery purpose-built for the EVIO 810 hybrid-electric regional aircraft. The hybrid-electric aviation battery collaboration will validate cell performance and advance energy storage integration requirements for a Part 25 aircraft that operates all-electric on short missions and hybrid-electric on longer routes.
Testing launched earlier this year, with Energy Storage System-level data collection planned for the second half of 2026. EVIO has already secured conditional purchase agreements for 450 aircraft from two major airlines.
EVIO and Molicel show how building aerospace-grade battery validation directly into the aircraft development timeline can accelerate the certification pathway for hybrid-electric flight rather than treating energy storage as an afterthought.
