Jacobs will Support the National Ecosystem Survey Delivery in the UK

The National Ecosystem Survey Delivery in the UK will be supported by Jacobs through the provision of coordinated field and program management services for the England Ecosystem Survey.
Appointed by Natural England and the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), Jacobs will contribute to a nationwide effort under the Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment program to establish a comprehensive baseline of England’s land, freshwater, and coastal ecosystems by 2029.
The survey will generate standardized data on soils, vegetation, habitats, and landscape conditions, strengthening the evidence base for biodiversity protection, climate resilience, and sustainable land management. Working with Southern Ecological Solutions, Jacobs will oversee survey logistics, contractor management, and land access coordination to ensure consistent data collection. The resulting datasets are intended to inform environmental policy, guide conservation investment, and support long-term stewardship of England’s natural assets and ecosystem services.
