Purolator and McMaster University have established the Purolator Chair in Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chain Management at McMaster’s DeGroote School of Business to advance applied research and experiential learning in sustainable logistics. The initiative is intended to support collaborative projects that translate academic research into operational improvements for Canada’s supply chains, and it will provide funding and institutional support for faculty research, student engagement, and industry‑facing studies.

The partnership targets research areas including routing optimisation, decarbonisation of freight operations, automation, workforce safety, and supply chain resilience, with an emphasis on producing practical solutions for industry adoption. The programme is described as creating opportunities for students to work on real world challenges while enabling Purolator to access evidence based insights that can inform its sustainability and operational strategies.
