Fluorine-Free Recycled Yarns

UNIFI launched Resist2O Pro, a water-resistant yarn technology that minimizes absorption without topical DWR finishes, fluorinated chemistry, or PFOA above 5 parts per billion. It joins Cofira, a yarn that combines spun comfort with filament performance, available globally in virgin and REPREVE recycled polyester.

REPREVE options, including REPREVE Takeback, are fully traceable via FiberPrint technology and certified by U-TRUST, GRS, and SCS for recycled content. Cofira can pair with A.M.Y., ChillSense, and ReFlexx technologies for apparel, furnishings, gear, and accessories. UNIFI will showcase both at Performance Days Munich on October 13-14 and at the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland on October 26-28.

As brands phase out fluorinated finishes, these launches signal that recycled, traceable yarns can deliver water resistance and performance without added chemical treatments.
